Q.What is your Cookie Cutters franchise fee?
A.You pay a one time fee of $25,000 (or current amount in the FDD) and royalties of 5% on gross sales for your franchise. Additional franchised Cookie Cutters locations are $10,000 if you already have a franchise in good standing in the market area. There are also national ad fees that can vary depending on your market.
Q.Do you think I can own a Cookie Cutters salon?
A.This can be answered after the application process and interview. But in general, if your net worth is $250,000 and you have liquid cash of at least $50,000, your financial qualifications are a good start. Of course you should be able to manage a franchised business and deal with people, desire to market your Cookie Cutters salon, and really love working with children and staff who love children. Being part of a franchised network is always helpful.
Q.Can my family help with financing my franchsied salon?
A.If there is a partnership formed, that partnership or corporation must still meet the individual requirements for a Cookie Cutters salon, otherwise you must still meet personal qualifications.
Q.Do you finance my Cookie Cutters franchised salon?
A.Cookie Cutters can assist with your financing needs, but we do not offer direct financial loans to our franchisees. We do have several vendors who offer lease packages to franchise owners if you are qualified.
Q.How much will my Cookie Cutters salon make?
A.We do not predict profits as there are many factors including location, operating costs, financing terms, and your ability to manage. However, there are many advantages to being part of a Cookie Cutters franchise system that has nearly 20 years of experience.
Q.Should I be a Hair Stylist?
A.Not at all. In fact very few of our franchisees are hair stylists. Even Cookie was not a stylist when she began the first store. It is more important to have business and management experience or training. A good work ethic and the ability to be passionate about your life are needed more than anything. The ability to work with a franchise system and communicate with staff and clients alike are beneficial for a successful Cookie Cutters franchise.
Q.Must I work in the franchised salon?
A.Yes. While it may not be required that you are in the store all the time, you should still plan to be an integral part of your franchised salon. If your business plan calls for multiple franchised locations, this may change to where you won't spend as much time in each store, instead spending more time managing all the business locations.
Q.Where should I locate my Cookie Cutters franchise?
A.Locations vary based on demographics for your market. You may not sign any lease until you are an official franchisee, and you should not negotiate any lease until this process is complete. We offer complete lease negotiation and after signing lease management for a reduced fee for our franchise owners. All lease negotiations for a franchise business location are done by our professional staff.
Q.Will Cookie Cutters help in the marketing of my salon services?
A.We will provide marketing needs, from grand opening material to ongoing requirements. All our materials are available online and can be customized for each location. We also have television and radio ads produced and available for all Cookie Cutters salons. We are constantly updating the available materials exclusively for our franchise systems.
Q.How much training do I need to attend?
A.You are required to attend a 5-day training class in Indianapolis, Indiana. This training will cover how to manage your franchise business, comply will all franchise rules, and learn the business management software package. You will perform hands-on management of an operating Cookie Cutters salon. After this class you will be able to train your staff in the operation of your children's hair salon.
Q.So now what?
A.Just fill out the application form and a representative will contact you to discuss the exciting franchise opportunity available.
